1. General purpose container
The department store container is often used to transport dry goods, so it is also known as the dry container (abbreviated as 20’DC or 40’DC). This type of container is most commonly used in shipping.

2. Bulk container
The container type allows dry bulk cargo (eg cement, grain, ore …) by pouring from top to bottom through the loading hatch, and unloading at the bottom or the side (discharge hatch). Ordinary bulk containers have a similar appearance to a department store, except for the loading and unloading mouth.
3. Dedicated container
It is a type of special design to transport a certain type of goods such as cars, live animals, soft drinks, cars, motorcycles ..
– Container for car transport: structure consists of a frame linked to the floor, without walls with a cover, for transporting cars, and can be arranged inside one or two floors depending on the height of the vehicle. (Currently, people still carry cars in departmental containers which are quite popular)
Animal containers: specially designed for the transport of animals. The vertical wall or the front wall has a small screen door for ventilation. The lower part of the vertical wall is to arrange a dirty escape hole when cleaning.
– The beverage container is converted from a 40-foot dry container, cut off 02 steel walls instead of a mobile canvas, with a roof stiffening system, such a design container will reduce the packing time and down the line.
4. Reefer container
Designed to transport goods that require a certain level of temperature and humidity control for that cargo inside the container. Walls and roofs of this type are often covered with insulation. T-shaped aluminum floors allow air to circulate along the floor and to the empty spaces on the floor.
Reefer containers are usually of two types: aluminum reefer container and iron reefer container. Aluminum and iron reefer containers are referred to according to their appearance material as aluminum or iron. Also, the temperature condition inside the container is more severe, so the inner layer of the reefer is made of stainless steel.

5. Open Top container

6. Platform container – Plat / Flat rack container
Designed with no walls, no roof, but only the floor is a solid ground, specialized for the transport of heavy goods such as machinery, steel … Container space has two-sided walls (front and back) This wall can be fixed, folded down, or removable. There is a floor rom available now that functions almost like this flat rack container.

7. Tank container
The tank container basically consists of an ISO standard frame in which a storage tank is attached, used to transport liquid goods such as alcohol, chemicals, food, etc. The goods are poured through the mouth of the tank (manhole) above the roof of the container, and drawn. Outlet valve by the effect of gravity or drawn through the mouth of the tank by a pump.
This type is usually calculated according to the volume standard. Available in volumes as follows: 21,000 liters, 24,000 liters, 25,000 liters, 26,000 liters. Tank operators will design sizes so that they can fit into a “frame” (like a flatrack) to anchor tanks as standard as 20-foot and 40-foot containers.
